What are Antioxidants?
Our body has a kind of molecules that clean our body of free radicals a kind of naturally produced molecules during metabolism, exercise, and exposure to pollutants. This benefactor molecule is an Antioxidant.
Studies have established that high antioxidant intake is good for the heart and lowers the chance of cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. It is also a stress reliever, slowing the ageing process and supporting the immune system.
5 Healthy Antioxidant Drinks
There are many healthy drinks available for us. But this list is based on the quantum of antioxidants found in a single serving.
1.Green Tea
Green tea is packed with antioxidants like epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), linked to numerous health benefits like improved brain function, heart health, and cancer prevention.

3.Acai Juice
This healthy drink is made from acai berries. This juice is rich in antioxidants like anthocyanins and polyphenols, which may boost brain health, considered good for the heart, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. The amounts per 100 mL are :
- Anthocyanins: ~30mg/100mL
- Polyphenols: ~100mg/100mL (varies depending on the processing)
4. Beet Juice
Beets are naturally high in betalains, a kind of antioxidants which give them their vibrant red color. Beet juice controls blood pressure, improves athletic performance, and protects against cognitive decline. An amount of 100mL of Beet Juice provides 50mg of betalains.
5. Coffee
has antioxidants, including chlorogenic acid and phenolic acids. These antioxidants may protect against heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. The amounts of these antioxidants found per cup of coffee are :
- Chlorogenic Acid: ~50mg/cup
- Phenolic Acids: ~25mg/cup
